Characteristics of Good Agencies Supporting People in Need
1. Personhood support- Does the agency recognized who the person is and what is the potential?
2. Right Relationship – Is the person supported by the right agency that understands their need? Do they have the right people in their life? Are the relationships crafted in a way that helps the person to become who they want to be?
3. Correct Support – Does the level of support meet the need of the person? Is the person under supported and potentially at risk? Is the person over supported and stagnating?
4. Access to Materials and Resources – Is the person with the prefered organization? Do they have the opportunity to gain knowlege and resources? Do they have access to normal community resources? Do they have knowledge or control over their personal resources? Are the resources coming in for the person being spent in the best way for that person?
5. Access to Fellowship and Connection – Are people seen as citizens of their community? Are people networked and embedded in community life?
